What a Fantastic Evening
We had heard great things about this restaurant from our children, they seem to get everywhere, and were treated to a gift voucher by our son.
We booked and the night to attend arrived. I should mention that before the night arrived and after we had booked we received a courtesy phone call to check we were still coming and see if we needed anything, a very nice touch.
On entering, you see it is a compact yet inviting place, with a quaint dated appeal. We were seated on our table, presented menus and offered canapés, which were most enjoyable. We then placed our order Mrs K had the salmon mousse and I had the french onion soup, on a recommend from my daughter, it was delicious.
Then followed the main, we both had the fillet steak which just melted in the mouth, another joy. This was then followed by dessert of pancakes for the boss and a trio of offerings for me, the trio was a most interesting combination with Eton mess, bread and butter pudding and creme brûlée, a most pleasing end to the eating session. This had been accompanied by a very nice South African Merlot, that had been selected from a very impressive list.
The evening was finished off with a calypso coffee and mint and just completed and excellent evening. The background music was of a classic era and just loud enough to be most soothing. The staff was attentive without being over or under bearing and deliver a first rate service throughout.
We would highly recommend a visit, we will be going back very soon.
