Great steak and service
Went for a birthday meal with the family. They had just opened a small bar area at the bottom of restaurant, where you can enjoy pre-meal cocktails or a drink, which was very nice. The restaurant area was very nice, and staff were more than great. Had the duck starter and a steak main which was terrific. They had a new beer to me, which was called 'Curious Brew', which is now on my favorite list! All in all, was a great experience, and would certainly return when in the area.

Great food, great service, great place
Arrived for 8.30 sitting to be ushered to the 'booth' we'd asked for. Canopies with our pre-dinner drink. Great choice of starters and mains. Opted for roquefort salad and souffle, both excellent. Mains of entrecote steak cooked perfectly. Staff attentive but not intrusive. Desserts menu more good choice with the orange peel garnich a particular favorite. Highly recommended.

ABSOLUTELY DIVINE DARLING OUR BEST DINING IN 30 YEARS
I was lucky enough to be invited by a friend of mine who is a hotelier in the sandbanks area of Poole to this tucked away little gem.
She said this was just the sort of place I like and it was like stepping back in time.
from the second we walked in the door to the minute we left the whole experience was a blur of happiness and joy and gastronomique excellence.
The ambiance is fabulous. A cross between the French bistros that came over to the UK in the 1960's and 70's, and a late Victorian brothel with a bit of Maxims in Paris thrown in.
Dark, red, flickering lights, old wooden booths and Victorian décor.
Down below is a more modern bar strangely done in a sort of Tunisian style, which does not quite fit in, but still very nice and quaint and again very 70's.
We were called upstairs after our pre din din drinkies and entered into a world of sublime food.
Never in 30 years of eating all over the world have we had steaks such as these. Thick, beautifully cooked (we all had them done differently) mouth watering. Al dente vegetables, luscious potato dauphanoise . We are a hungry bunch not into nouvelle cuisine and asked for bread and seconds of all the veg, showing no shame !
This was brought by a gorgeously beautiful friendly waitress who I think was Spanish and there was no extra charge on the bill. Wow.
In this day and age, free second portions.
We do not drink alcohol (but our friend managed to sink a couple of bottles all by herself) and we were also amazed to see our pints of lime and soda were also free.
We sat and had a leisurely coffee soaking up the atmosphere not wanting to leave.
This was our best dining experience in 30 years............... we love you xx

Booked a table for myself and my partner here last week and I have to say we had a lovely romantic meal at Isabel's. The food was delicious, as was the Sancerre wine! The atmosphere is great with a lovely interior and the staff were really polite and helpful, I don't know who the people on the poor reviews dealt with but considering there's just 16 bad reviews in over 350, they must be rather highly strung people or just plain stupid! I would recommend Isabel's restaurant to anybody visiting Bournemouth. Myself and my partner had a fantastic meal here and will definitely visit again when we're next in Bournemouth. Loved it!

Amazing food, cosy environment and an overall great experience!
We came here for a 21st birthday meal when some family came to visit the area. We had a full 3 course meal and then after dinner drinks.
The steak mains were some of the nicest cuts and flavoured steak I've ever tasted! We ordered 4 different mains between the 4 of us and tried a bit of each and all of them were really spot on. The starters were delicious and just the right size to not fill you up before the main and the puddings were something special.
The coffee area downstairs is a great idea and the service was excellent! We'll definitely be visiting again soon :)

Excellent Value Bistro Menu
Isabel's has a comprehensive A La Carte Menu but on mid week nights also has a Bistro Menu which is great value for money. We both had the crab starter, my husband had duck and I had fish, both were very good, unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert. This was the best meal we had in 2 weeks whilst staying in Hampshire & Kent
